This year, the EuroPACT 2023 (6th European Conference on Process Analytics and Control Technology), organised by DECHEMA, took place on 7th-10th May 2023 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The competitiveness of all processing industries – from (petro)-chemicals over pharmaceuticals to foods & feeds – greatly depends on its ability to deliver consistent, high-quality and high-value products at competitive prices, in a sustainable way.
Data, Data Analytics and Process Analytical Technology are becoming the cornerstones for any global, competitive industry, and process analytical techniques are an essential tool in this future. With this in mind EuroPACT 2023 focused on featuring innovation along the following three pillars, complemented by a special focus on PACT for energy efficiency and circular economy applications. Additionally, the conference offered an exhibition of instrumentation, applications and data evaluation tools.
- Process Analytics in Real-World Application
- From Data to Process Insight, Control and Optimization
- Novel PAT and Instrumental Technologies
EuroPACT 2023 provided, for the more than 150 participants, a unique meeting and a discussion forum for researchers, suppliers and users of process analytics from both academia and industry.
The conference program included plenary and invited lectures and plenty of opportunity for discussion with colleagues during poster sessions, speed dating and discussion rounds.
NanoPAT couldn’t miss the possibly most important European PAT conference. Marko Simic, from BRAVE, gave an oral presentation on OF2i under the title “Optofluidic Force Induction as Process Analytical Technology” on May 10th in the session “Novel process analysis technologies III”. Sebastian Zimmermann, from UP, had a poster presentation (poster 3.24 – title: “Monitoring of silica particle precipitation by inline photon density wave spectroscopy”) on the challenges of inline particle sizing during industrial silica precipitations and how photon density wave spectroscopy can contribute to the solution of the task. Additionally, BRAVE had a booth to promote their OF2i technology that is being developed within the NanoPAT project.
